ITMS Test Data ( Clarity on Time )

Can anyone explain what is the Time variable given in test data. Is it the time which we have to predict the ETA by using real time data? or it means something else?

The “Time” variable is the current time for which an ETA of a bus on a route is asked.
For e.g,
For “Time” 2019-10-19T10:08:00+05:30, and stop_code 1340 on ROUTE_ID 5, when will the next bus arrive

Let me know if you require further clarification.

So we can expect that the test data which we get will be data from a single day. which means, we have to tell the ETA for the bus in ongoing trip?

No.
The testpoints will be across multiple days.
Data for around 20 minutes of that test point’s route is blanked in the database. An estimated arrival of a bus to a random stop along the path since the last recorded location of a bus on that route will be asked.
Note that there are multiple buses on the same route and the time of arrival of the earliest arriving bus to a stop will be required.

w.r.t above point in your reply we have to predict ETA for the bus which is given in test data point. But you have told any bus which arrives early to that stop?

But the problem statement was find ETA w.r.t given bus and route?

Yes you are correct. You have to find ETA for the given bus.
I intended to bring to your notice that ROUTE_ID alone won’t help you in querying for the bus but a combination of ROUTE_ID and NAME will. This is because there could be multiple buses on the same route (each such bus will have a different NAME)
